Somatic Psychotherapy
As a Somatic Psychotherapist, my work honors the wisdom of the body and recognizes the profound healing and growth available when we take time to notice, develop and offer healing from/through body experience. Somatic Psychotherapy is an integrative way to help you heal, know yourself in new ways, and feel better in your whole self. In our work together we'll create a safe and welcoming space for you to share your story and concerns, feel supported, and study how your body, mind & emotions respond to life's stressors. Where in life do you get "stuck" or "hooked" in ways that aren't working for you anymore? We'll discover what old patterns, beliefs and habits in your body, mind and emotions may be keeping you stuck without you even realizing it. But we don't stop there. We'll also explore and enhance what is working for you already. And we'll hone new tools so you can be who you want to be in the world. My Somatic Psychotherapy practice draws from: Depth Psychology, Humanistic Psychotherapy, Somatic Attachment work, Gestalt, Hakomi, EMDR, Energy Psychology, the Psycho-Physical work of Bill Bowen, and others. Somatic Psychotherapy can be practiced with or without supportive touch, depending on your preferences and needs. Supportive touch in therapy is always discussed in advance. Whether touch is applied in session or not, clients learn more about their embodied experience of living, feelings, thoughts, behavioral patterns and more, and find new ways to feel better.
